RESG-sponsored REET workshop | Official RE'08 website

16th RE’08 in Barcelona, September 8-12th 2008

The IEEE International Requirements Engineering Conference takes place in Europe only once every 3 years. In 2008 Barcelona is the beautiful location for the conference, which will run from the 8th to the 12th September. Barcelona offers the ideal opportunity for UK-based practitioners and researchers to participate in leading RE activities, many of which involve speakers and organisers from the RESG. These include:

- A Keynote from RESG patron Michael Jackson of the Open University entitled Problems, Solutions and Requirements

- Tutorials including Innovation, Creativity and their Role in Business Requirements given by Suzanne and James Robertson from the Atlantic Systems Guild and Neil Maiden and Sara Jones from City University London, and Practical Rationale Modeling given by Ian Alexander of ScenarioPlus

- Workshops including Requirements Engineering Education and Training (REET’08) co-organised by the RESG, and Service-Oriented Computing: Consequences for Engineering Requirements (SOCCER’08) co-organised by Neil Maiden from City University London

- A mini-tutorial on Service-Centric Systems and Requirements Engineering co-organised by Pete Sawyer of Lancaster University and Neil Maiden of City University London

- Presentation sessions on topics including change management, social systems, training and lessons learned, concepts and values, RE for embedded systems, elicitation techniques, industry needs, and requirements through the life cycle

- A second Keynote on Requirements Engineering techniques to support a more sustainable world from Jean-Pascal van Ypersele

- And many other exciting sessions throughout the week-long conference

RE’08 is being held in the centre of Barcelona, one of Europe’s most beautiful and cosmopolitan cities. And fortunately, Barcelona is easy to get to from the UK, with flights from many UK airports with airlines including British Airways, bmi, Iberia, Easyjet and Ryanair.

The RESG looks forward to see you all in Barcelona in September!
