Ian Robinson will share his experience as a CIO leading a substantial IT transformation programme to enable a radical business strategy. He will talk through the challenges of working in a complex organisation in an environment of substantial change. He will also share some practical experience and real world examples of the approaches taken and the lessons learned. The presentation will look at the application of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, using Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Risk Priority Code (RPC) to analyse and prioritise requirements. He will also explore the process of applying requirement ‘Fits’ and ‘Gaps’ to determine ‘out of the box’ versus ‘customised’ functionality.
Ian has worked in IT & Telecommunications for 30 years, 20 of these at BT. He has held many CTO and CIO roles as well as General Management roles supporting businesses with revenues up to £1B. He is now a Management Consultant for Peru Consulting and enjoys working with a diverse range of clients. Ian has a Masters Degree in Telecoms Business from University College London and an Honours Degree in Computer Science from De Montfort University. Ian lives with his family in a picturesque Berkshire Village and is actively involved in village life. He also enjoys playing golf when time allows.
